Day 3
dubrovnik, croatia
Arrival: 07:00 - Departure: 16:30
George Bernard Shaw called Dubrovnik “the pearl of the Adriatic, a paradise on earth”, and, indeed, it may be one of the most beautiful cities you’ll ever see. Largely built and long inhabited by Venetians, Dubrovnik possesses a stately charm and striking architectural unity that draw thousands of visitors every summer. Founded in 7th century, Dubrovnik stood amid a great forest of oak trees, from which it took its name. Take a walk atop the old city walls for vistas of the old town and the surrounding coast. Just before exiting the old town through the western gate, turn right to visit the Franciscan Monastery and peaceful cloisters. Just inside the entrance is the oldest European pharmacy, founded in 1371. In the northern corner of the old city is the Dominican Cloister and Museum, with a polyptych by Titian. The impressive Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary stands in the centre of Poljana Marin Držić and its treasury can be visited; look for the work by Raphael. Dubrovnik has warm, crystalline waters; don’t just admire it from a distance and take a dive. The intrepid can dive and sunbathe along the rocks or swim around the walls of the city while others gawk above. Dubrovnik’s impressive battlements gleam in the early morning light, but by early afternoon, the sea’s clear blue waters beckon you away from the city and its tourist din. If you can stand the crunch, you, too, may find a piece of heaven.

Day 8
nice (villefranche), france
Arrival: 07:00 - Departure: 18:00
Nice weathers its storms of tourisms each summer with all the usual accoutrements of a Riviera town: Casual affluence, an ample beach, museums, flowery avenues but lack the affected aloofness of its neighbours. Furthermore, Nice is blessed with good public transport within the city and to all points on the Côte d’Azur, and makes it a good base for Riviera exploring. Nice’s long thin beach and bronzing guests are the city’s principal attractions for most visitors. Nonetheless, Nice’s vieille ville, the old town, is worth a visit. The old quarter is an unusual blend of glitter and a Mediterranean medieval quarter of tiny streets and outdoors markets. For a spectacular Riviera panorama, climb up to the top of the chateau. The city has several outstanding museums, such as the Musée Matisse, devoted to the work of French painter Henri Matisse, or the Musée National Marc Chagall, dedicated to the work of painter Marc Chagall. The majestic promenade des Anglais sweeps along the coast. This pedestrian zone swarms with boutiques, busy restaurants and all variety of tourists. The nightlife in Nice is effervescent, the labyrinth of tiny streets in the vieille ville hides restaurants and bars, and accounts for the city’s Mediterranean flair.

Day 9
palma de mallorca, spain
Arrival: 13:00 - Departure: 21:00

Palma de Mallorca is the island's only true city. A city on the island of Mallorca, one of the Balearic Islands off the Spanish east coast. The city has become a destination in its own right, rather than simply a stop-over for package holidaymakers en route to the island's many beach resorts, thanks to its increasingly cosmopolitan atmosphere, its avant-garde galleries and museums, a thriving cultural scene and an ever-growing number of chic boutiques, trendy bars, nightclubs and restaurants. Palma de Mallorca is a wonderful place to visit. It has a rich architectural variety as the city has many different styles all merged with one another. The vestiges of Arabs and Jews, the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture of its churches, convents and manor homes, in addition to its complete infrastructure of cultural places of interest, make Palma a unique cultural destination. Don't miss the opportunity to walk on the narrow streets, take a good look at the interior yards and raise your head to see the great architecture on the heights of the different buildings where Gaudi and his disciples left their marks. The city's heritage is a faithful reflection of the peoples and cultures that have passed through the island down the ages. As a versatile, cosmopolitan beachfront city, Balearic’s capital of Palma has something for everyone.
